Out with the old -in with the new

Here is some of the old doors and woodwork that was taken out, 4 doors and frames. It was Anthony's 30th birthday today and we were kidding around and I told him I could make him a cake or whatever he wanted so he said he wanted an apple pie. So, the good customer that I was, I whipped up an apple pie and decided that I would get some t-bones out of the freezer and make them also. Boy, did his face light up when I said we were having steaks and him and his buddy were invited. I guess his grandma and wife called before lunch to see if they could take him out and he said he was having steaks out my house, I hope they aren't mad at me. I didn't think he was going anywhere for lunch and was eating cold sandwiches in his pickup. We live 13.5 miles from Plainview so I didn't think that was an option. Well, we got the bill so far for him and his buddies labor. Boy, things really add up when they are charging $20 an hour per guy. I think my last carpenter charged $15 and it seemed like things went a lot faster. I'm thinking we need to pay our help more if these guys get that much, especially my son who can work circles around these guys. No offense, they are really nice and do good work, I'm just used to fast Derek and Alden:-). It needed to get done and they were willing to do it. I'm just glad they are not going to be here for a month or two. Ouch!!!!
Here's my new doors, they look so nice. They also got my closet doors put in today and they are all glass. So, Alden put the rods up in my closet and got my clothes off the bed so he can sleep in the bed tonight instead of on the couch like he has for a week. I have been sleeping in Christian's bed, so my back hasn't been hurting.
Here's my new tub and fixture's, Dillan was complaining about the ones in his bathroom, so I ran to Norfolk the other day and got these (just like aunt Kim)(well I don't remember Kim's, but, I think this is really similiar, it raises up and down and also you can take the nozzle off and wash little kids hair and be sitting down and spray yourself. The only thing I didn't like was that they only had one and it was crome so I had to get all crome fixtures. I wanted one to match my other fixtures. Oh, well.

Well, they finally got the new fixtures in and the new drywall to repair the old wall. The carpenter we had before who put this tub in made lots of mistakes that caused water to get behind the surround and rot the wall beside it. It took lots of time and money to get it repaired, now all that needs to be done is painted.
