Something Positive

The other day I was taking all the stuff out of Christian's book bag and found a disposable camera and Jasmine was there and I asked her if she knew anything about it. She said she wanted to tell me the truth, yeah, I love it!!!! She proceeded to tell me that before I put up the chart that I put stars on if you are good and then they get a penny for each star) that Christian and her were in a store with me and were looking at camera's and when I wasn't looking he put it under his shirt. Well, when I asked Christian about it, he started blaming Jasmine and she kept saying she just wanted to tell the truth and yes it was her idea also. I said I was very proud of them to tell the truth. Now, I just have to figure out which store it was and make them each take money to the store with me and tell the clerk what they did. I remember stealing some candy one time when I was little in Plainview and my mom made me take it back and tell what I did. That really taught me not to steal cause it was so embarrassing to take it back and admit I did somthing wrong.

Last night we were discussing about how sometimes we want to bad things and how that is normal to feel that way once in awhile but we shouldn't act on it. Jasmine said, " I felt like being naughty today, but, then I remembered if I did I wouldn't get a penny." Yeah, my star system is working. A couple of months ago we decided we needed to do something different than what we were doing and thought up the star system. I have a calander and I give a star if you have been good that day and I pay a penny for each star. I know this isn't very much but, you would be surprized how excited they are to get 5, 7 cents, of course they think 10 penny's is alot better than a dime.

I think sending them to a Christian school really helps in telling the truth and being good also as they love and respect their teachers and they are always teaching about this.

If anyone has box-tops and would save them for us our school gets 10 cents for everyone and than they have a store that people donate things for and they buy things with their money-they found out that there was box-tops on our kleenix's at church-I recovered 30 yesterday that they would have just thrown away. I am heading the box-top store and will be having in the first part of December. Box-tops can be on anything from Kleenix's, frosting, cakemixes, hamburger helper, etc. You would be surprized how when we go shopping the kids' spot them. We are also saving coupons from Tyson's-I forget what we get for each one of them-it says that they support school's on the end of the box, so clip that out.
