Things getting easier

It has almost been a month since Jasmine and Christian came home and they are doing so good. Our last episode was a week ago with Christian and the 2 episodes we have had with him have been because he didn't understand why I was so mean and was not sending him to school. After the first one and finally after an hour he finally told me why he was so mad at me and I telling him that no one is in school cause they are on vacation I thought he understood, but, after the last ordeal and him being so mad and acting up after finally 2 hours of this he again told me he was mad I was not sending him to school. So, we got out the calendar circled August 15 and showed him and Jasmine what today was and crossed off the days that were behind us he finally understands (I think) and has been so very wonderful.

Jasmine and Christian are learning about sharing and being good. They ask me everday if we have gone someplace if they have been good. They know if they are good I let them do things they like ---like going to the market and getting a pepsi. Yesterday, out of the blue they wanted to wash and sweep down the cement outside our garage-they got on their swimsuits and proceeded to spend 2 hours hosing it down and sweeping. They said they did this at Bresma with Moma Robert and Jimmy (of course they didn't have a hose so they used a bucket and water. They are adjusting so well and really enjoying being at their new home and getting to eat whenever they are hungry and getting to ride their bikes. They both can ride a bike-it took Jasmine a little longer and lots of falling down, but, she has it mastered now.

If they don't like when I tell them to do something the other says-"no sad face" and usually they change their face. Christian is such a wonderful older brother and taking care of his sister.

I have to pinch myself all the time that they are really ours and finally here to stay and we can plan our life together loving them and taking care of them, they are learning so many new words everyday it is incredible-I know it will explode when they go to school and won't be able to converse in Kreyol all day-maybe just at lunch and after school.

Lisa, this is so encouraging and so wonderful! You waited for such an incredibly long time- I'm thrilled for you that life is moving forward with your sweet children at home!

Sorry I've been a little absent- we were gone for a week and I was sick for the entire following week. I'm back and very excited to catch up!

LOVE the update and praise God with you!

Laura,
Thanks for your encouragement and nice words. I'm sorry to hear you were sick-what a bummer.

At times I catch myself saying they should have been home a year ago with Corey's---but, when I do that I only feel negative feeling so, I try to concentrate that they are here now and enjoying that---this has helped not to go back to the past and the what-ifs.
