Jasmine made a lot of cookies and just a few people showed up to eat them.
It just wasn't the same this year with only Derek,Kim,Brittany, Dillan, Darin and Keaton showing up for Christmas Eve. Church was canceled. The Blizzard was starting to roll in already Christmas Eve and Derek and Kim called and said they weren't coming and then called back and said they would take another route...cause the normal once was starting to drift shut.
My sister Kim didn't come....so...neither did all the food she was bringing so I made some potatoes, corn, rolls, pie and Kimberly brought over a ham. We had Jasmine's sugar cookies also. We played the left-right game with whomever was here, then they left. Everyone hightailed it out of here before 8:30. I think this is the first Christmas Eve I have made it to bed far before Midnight.
Christmas Day I woke up at 4:30 remembering that I hadn't gotten the clues ready for the scavenger hunt and I just knew the kids would be up by 5:00 to get their Wii, so I got out of bed and made-up the 5 clues and stuck them around the house.....hid the wii in the trunk of the car....(the clue was....what is red and has lots of power) and sat and waited until 10:00 when the last of the Zuhlke's rolled out of bed. By then Alden was out doing chores and they were watching a movie. When Alden came in at around noon and asked if they wanted to go on a scavenger hunt, they said, "Na" What????????So, then about 3:00 Keaton and Dillan came in and were wondering why there was paper in the microwave. Then I asked the kids again if they wanted to go on the SH, Christian said no and Jasmine said yes, then I said to Christian.....don't you want your Wii.....Oh, then,Yes.
They couldn't figure out what was red and lots of power...even though Dillan was trying to help them and said it wasn't in the house. You should have seen them trying to find one of the clues under the sheets of my bed. (where mom likes to go to get peace and quiet)
Then they couldn't figure out how to work it, we got it off of E-bay and even tried calling the people we got it from to ask how to run it....well, an hour later Christian had it figured out. He was complaining to me when he couldn't figure it out that I should have boughten one with games that came in cases...not ones that were downloaded directly onto the hard drive...what 5 games vs. 100 games...are you kidding? Let me tell you, yesterday, was the most peace I have had in a long time......all day playing games....just coming upstairs to eat, drink and go to the bathroom....a once in a lifetime opportunity.
